Introducing our new name - World Football Lifetime Achievement Award

While the events of 2020 have halted many of our beloved sports events, we’ve taken this forced rescheduling as an opportunity to re-brand and redesign our concept to better fit the current environment of our world.

Football is so significant, especially now, because of its unique ability to bring people together. Our vision for the second annual Awards Ceremony to be held in Huaxi, Guiyang City is not only to promote football in China, but also to utilize the sport as a bridge between two cultures. With our events spanning across Europe and China, we wanted to cater to a wider, global audience with an emphasis on worldwide outreach.

With this, we’d like to introduce our new 2020/2021 name as the World Football Lifetime Achievements Award or World Football Award for short. The philosophy of this name change reflects the international character of the award and focuses on the power of inclusivity. Our goal is to continue recognizing the outstanding achievements of the inspirational, international players of today, yesterday, and tomorrow and to have these players act as role models for future generations of football players around the world.

The Nominations Ceremony that was to be held in London on 2/27 has been moved to November 2020 and the Awards Ceremony to be held in China has been moved from July 2020 to July 2021. The new awards categories this year will be as follows: the Lifetime Achievement award, Legend of Era award, Football Personality Award, and Special Award: Impact Award. As soon as our games and events continue, we will be ready to advocate for the idea that is this more than just a sport. Football has the power to connect us across borders and social boundaries, even in the most divisive of times.
