THE STORY
First held as the Football Achiever’s Award, the inaugural year saw two events; a Nominations Ceremony in Monte Carlo, and the Awards Ceremony itself in Guiyang City, China. Having honoured a host of exemplary guests in its first year, the organisation has now evolved into the World Football Lifetime Achievement Award.
This inclusive annual event is one of the leading sporting ceremonies around the world, appealing to the international football family with an exciting format that truly connects players and fans.
This year our venerated nominees will be awarded in four categories; The Lifetime Achievement Award, The Legend of an Era Award, The Football Personality Award, and The Impact Award.
The challenges of the global pandemic throughout 2020 have unfortunately paused and postponed proceedings. The World Football Lifetime Achievement Award is proud to return in 2024, with a renewed determination to deliver a world class awards process.

True lifetime achievement is about reaching over cultural borders, working hard alongside people from all walks of life, and treating our fellow person with the respect of a champion.
The World Football Lifetime Achievement Award respects cultural differences, is ready to redefine the definition of a football fan, and is committed to finding new ways of expressing the love for the beautiful game.
The award categories of the World Football Lifetime Achievement Award are for those who exemplify greatness. They will once again be celebrated for the world to see in Guiyang City, May 2024.
2024 nominations
the legends
CATEGORIES
Lifetime Achievement
Of the three nominees in this category, The Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to the player who has achieved pure excellence in football, while carving out an extraordinary legacy to leave behind. To qualify, nominees must be an active professional football player who is at least 28 years old as of 1 June 2021.
legend of an era
The Legend of Era Award will be chosen from eleven nominees. These shall all be players who have officially announced their retirement from professional football having achieved remarkable success, while imprinting their own unmistakable signature on the game.
football personality
The Football Personality Award is reserved for officially retired football players with magnetic personalities which have instantly and eternally captured the hearts of their fans. The three nominees for this award will all be distinguished examples of players who have expressed themselves on and off the pitch in a way which will inspire future generations.
special award
The Impact Award could be awarded to anyone in the footballing world who wields remarkable influence, pushes the sport forward, and leaves their mark on the future of the game. The three nominees for this award may include managers, football clubs, coaching staff, referees, retired players, and many other roles.
